So you think we do interesting stuff and want to become part of the team? That is great, thank you very much for your interest in our lab. We are actively looking for team members. If you are interested in joining us, please read the guidelines below before applying.
If you are interested in a post-doc position, please follow this guide:
– Email Jakub with the following:
* A few sentences about you, your past research experience, your future research interests and why you are interested in our lab.
* A copy of your CV, including publication list and contact information to at least three former or current employers/mentors.
* A ‘[postdoc]’ tag in the subject line of your email.
If Jakub does not respond within a few days, please email him again.
– If we like your application, we will arrange a video call for a short (~20 minutes) presentation and discussion with Jakub. This should take around an hour.
– If we think you may be a good fit, we will invite you out for an interview. This will likely take an entire day. It will involve an hour formal presentation and informal discussions with Jakub as well as other members of the International Research Agenda. During this visit you should take an opportunity to assess whether you like the environment and will be productive within this group for the next few years.
– After the interview, Jakub will talk with everyone you spoke with. He will contact you to make you an offer or to encourage you to keep looking.
Successful post-doc applicants will have:
* PhD degree in computational or biological-related field.
* At least one first author article.
* Although for computational positions experience with programming is not required, a strong interest in statistics and coding is needed.
* An interest in applying for additional funding is welcome.
If you are interested in a PhD study or want to research for your master’s thesis with us, please follow this guide:
– Email Jakub with the following:
* A few sentences about you, your research interest and why you are interested in our lab.
* A copy of your CV with contact information to at least two former or current employers/mentors.
* A ‘[PhD]’ or ‘[MoA]’ tag in the subject line of your email.
If Jakub does not respond within a few days, please email him again.
– If we like your application, we will arrange a video call for a short discussion with Jakub. This should take around half an hour.
– If we think you may be a good fit, we will contact you and arrange a visit. The visit will take approximatelly 2 hours. It will allow you to see the lab and discuss with Jakub, as well as others in the lab to give you a better sense of working environment.
– After the interview, Jakub will talk with everyone you spoke with. He will then reach out with an offer or encourage you to keep looking.
Successful applicants will have:
* BS or BA in a biological, computational, or statistics-related field.
* Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: R, Python, C++, Javascript.
* Some level of undergraduate research experience is preferred.
